Charitable Cruise to Trooper Island.

Join us for a cruise to Trooper Island led by Trooper Jonathan Biven in his Kentucky State Police Car.  Once we reach Dale Hollow Lake we will be taken by boat to the island where the staff will provide lunch.  Trooper Biven will take us on a guided tour and will explain the mission of the island.  After our visit, Jonathan will lead us back to Bowling Green by a different route.

Trooper Island is a non-profit charitable corporation. No tax dollars are used; it is supported entirely by donations. Jonathan is inviting us as his guests.  We are not charging a fee for this special trip, but we will be providing you the opportunity to make a good-will donation to Trooper Island before we head back home.

About Trooper Island:  It is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls, age 10-12, operated by the Kentucky State Police on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. It is financed entirely by donations; no public funds are used. Each year, the camp hosts approximately 700 children.  Campers spend one week at the camp learning about citizenship, leadership, and personal hygiene. The children receive comprehensive oral health screenings in conjunction with oral hygiene education.  They are provided Healthy
food, fresh air, recreation, guidance, and structured, esteem-building activities designed to build good citizenship and positive relationships with law enforcement officers.
